and displayed. Use up and down arrows or click
mouse below file names to show others that may
be off the screen.

Locate enables you to set the disk and directory
path that contain music files. Use the usual
Atari techniques to specify the drive and folder
Then click on OK. Do not select a file name.

Reads a list of file names, presets, levels and
maps from a file in the current directory. This
is used in place of read disk. A list of
specific names with other set data may be
restored when saved earlier.

Saves a list of file names and presets to a file
in the current directory for later recall. You
must first set any preset instruments or levels
for each file. Then select each file to be
included using the mouse or left cursor arrow.

Selects all files to be played in in numerical
order. If all files have already been selected,
then all files are deselected.

If skip EZ-Track is selected EZ-Track files will
not be played when encountered. This is used
when continuous play between songs desired using
other types of music files.

to the left of the file names, will be played.

be skipped with the delete key.

Load MT-32 data applies only when using a Roland
MT-32 sound module. The data must have been
first saved to your disk using the Save option.
This allows quick restoral of settings you made
DATA previously.

Save MT-32 data applies only when using a Roland
MT-32 sound module. This saves system and patch
temp parameters in a file on the disk. This
includes volume settings, instrument number,
bender, reverb, etc. but does not save the
partial parmeters used for timbre.

Load a previously saved configuration file from
a disk. Selectable options, and certain mouse
changeable values are restored to previous
settings. Channel maps, preset maps, volume
maps will be identical for all songs.

map for the first file only will be saved.

Quit terminates the program and returns you to
the desk top. The escape key may also be used
when no song is playing.

Instrument presets can be chosen either from
that specified in the music file, from the
values shown in the box at the bottom of the
screen, or can be left unchanged. Use the right
or left mouse buttons to change the MMM
displayed values.

The velocity levels for each channel can be set
using the keys or mouse in the level box second
from the bottom of the screen. If you use this
feature you will not hear level changes or fades
in the music if they are present.

When Equalize Channel Maps is selected the
channel maps for all file names will be set to
the same as that shown in the channel map box.
You could use this to set polyphonic mode by
making all channels 1 and then selecting it.

Equalize Level Maps sets the volume levels for
the channels of all the other file names to the
same as those shown in the box for the currently
selected file.

Equalize Preset Maps sets the presets for all
file names to the same as those shown in the
box for the currently selected file.

The Atari computer speaker may be turned on when
the mouse is clicked on this item and it a check
mark shows. The speaker may be used to monitor
music during a SMF conversion.

When this feature is selected the words to the
song will be displayed if a word file exists or
if they are included in the music file. This
works only with some Music Studio, Sid player
and Antic Music Processor songs.

Alternate format with Music Studio causes each
voice to be mapped to the lowest available
channel. When selected with SID, plays an
additional stereo file if present. With Cakewalk
or SMF, maps tracks directly to channels instead
of playing them on the file's midi channel.

The song is played and a map is made that shows
which voices are used and number of notes played
on one channel. This is usefull when remaping to
midi channels. Also shown are lowest and highest
notes encountered. May affect play quality for
fast tempo short note songs.

Normally music voice 1 is mapped to synthesizer
channel 1 etc. You can map any music file input
channel to any output channel using the channel
map box and the mouse or arrow keys. This
allows synthesizers with only lower channels to
play music using higher channel numbers.

Usually song file channels are mapped to midi
channels using values in the channel map box.
With this selected channels are mapped according
to data in a Music Studio file. When making a
SMF 1 file from a SMF 1 file insures input track
contain the same channels as output tracks.

Select Loop Play to play songs in a never-ending
loop. Then use the mouse or keys to select songs
to be played. Songs will be played in the order
listed. After the highest numbered song is
finished the lowest numbered song will begin
again.

Instead of playing a song the output is to a
file in standard midi file format 0. The file
name will be the same as that of the derivitive
file with the extender .MID. EZ-Track songs use
the song name. SMF files use .MI+letter as the
output name extender.

Synthesizer Type gives a choice of using either
the instrument voice banks of a Yamaha FB-01 or
up to 128 instrument presets of other types of
synthesizers. When using the FB-01, YES gives
access to voice banks 3 through 7, NO gives
access to voice bank 1 only.

Selecting songs to be played can be done with
the arrow keys or mouse. The up and down arrow
keys move the black cursor to a name. Use the
left arrow to select the title, right arrow to
deselect. Clicking mouse over the name will also
select it.

Octave displacement and note limits are
controled with the mouse when music is not
playing. Set the mouse below LL or UL and use
buttons to change lower and upper note limits.
Octaves can be set at whole values above and
below zero, the song base. Use the mouse.

The tempo multiplier (tempo x) increases or
decreases the tempo for all parts of a song and
for all songs played. It can only be changed
before play is begun. The tempo multiplier is
initially set at 1.00 (normal song tempo.)

Velocity compression (V.C.) expands or shrinks
the dynamic range of loudness of the music.
Numbers less than 1.0 make the quiter parts of
the music louder but do not affect the louder
parts. Numbers more than 1.0 make the quieter
parts of the music softer and may turn them off.

No song playing...Arrow keys move between
selections and change values, space bar moves
between boxes, P starts play, esc exits, I
colors, Q quits, R reads dir., L locates. With
song playing...escape ends playing space bar
pauses playing,delete key skips to next song.

The mouse may be used to change numerical
values by clicking on digits. Only tempo,
presets, and levels may be changed while a song
is playing. A song may be selected with the left
mouse button and deselected with the right mouse
button.
